Corvette club of South Australia Inc.

A large grassed area at Serafino Winery was the meeting point for this year's McLaren Vale Vintage & Classic. Over 530 cars comprising of a wide variety of different makes and models squeezed onto the site in anticipation of the day ahead (including a total of 12 Corvettes). After those who preregistered collected their 'goody bags' (yes Alan you could preregister) it was time to wander around the paddock and check out the massive number of vehicles on display. It was great to see such a large array of vehicles on show from the earliest a 1904 Cadillac right up to some modern day "classics" the newest being a 2014 Jaguar F-Type Coupe. The weather was a bit fickle with some light drizzle passing through as we waited for the parade to begin. Soon a steady stream of cars began to meander out of the winery grounds and towards the Main Street of McLaren Vale.
The Main Street was absolutely packed with spectators as all of the cars passed by and made their way to their allotted winery to go on public display for the rest of the day. Our club had a great spot at Hardy's Tintara Winery just off the Main Street, with live music nearby and a great display of handmade guitars on show in the building next to us (those who were really observant may have noticed a picture of our fellow members' Judy and Les Beyer's copper coloured C3 and their own custom made Stingray inspired guitar).
The weather improved as the day went on and the remainder of our time was taken up relaxing around the cars and soaking up the atmosphere. A great day out was had by all who attended, thanks to Dave Schrapel for organising our club's participation in this event.
