Well as Kegel becomes more popular with members choosing to stay in The Valley, it was decided this year to follow up the Saturday night Kegel competition with a run on the Sunday.

A great night was had by all at the Kegelbahn with plenty of sledging and banter with the eventual winner of the male competition being Alan Orchard and a play off between Lynda McBride and Ruth Van Doorn with Lynda the eventual winner. Pizzas sustained us all during the evening.

Sunday morning dawned with a fierce wind but we were lucky no rain.  We met at the Barossa Valley Chocolate Factory for coffee and Xmas shopping and then set off for our run with the first stop at Menglers Hill and the Sculpture Park for a quick photo shoot before we were blown away.

We made our way down through Rowland Flat, Lyndoch and Williamstown but unfortunately along the way there was a problem with Colin and Cindy’s C3 and they had to be towed away.  Thank you to Stu and Ruth and Gary and Cathy who stayed to help and S&R who ferried the carless couple home! We continued on through Kersbrook, Gumeracha, Birdwood, Mt. Pleasant, Springton where we had a brief stop at the Herbig Tree, and Eden Valley before arriving at the Company Store in Angaston for lunch.

We managed to avoid the majority of the rain and hopefully everyone enjoyed the weekend.

See you all next year – if you can’t bowl it doesn’t matter – everyone’s a winner xx
